Thruway Authority releases expense records

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Thruway Authority finally released thousands of pages of public records, after months of delays, to News 4 Investigates on Wednesday.

Jordan Williams had filed an open records request nearly seven months ago asking for copies of the expense records for the thruway’s board of directors and its executive staff.

News 4 Investigates wanted to see how much money the authority spent on things like airfare, meals and conferences.

After going back and forth for months, our lawyer threatening a lawsuit, and a state assemblyman fighting for the release of the information, the authority finally caved.

We are currently in the midst of sorting through the documents. Look for a future story about the expenses.
