Man sentenced for attempted rape

ALLEGANY, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man will spend one year in jail after being convicted of second degree attempted rape.

Keith Ellis of Olean had sex with a person less than 15-years-old last July in the Town of Allegany. He was originally charged with second degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child, but was convicted of second degree attempted rape.

The 19-year-old was sentenced Monday for to a year in the Cattaraugus County Jail.
