Bills fans aren’t fans of Bon Jovi

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – People are heading to Canton, Ohio Saturday afternoon to watch Andre Reed receive his gold Hall of Fame jacket.

For fans, it’s about remembering the super streak in the early 90s. Fans are also opinionated about the potential future owner. Jim Christopher is heading to Canton for the ceremonies.

“[Terry] Pegula has the drive; he wants the team and he’s got the money and it’s just a matter of time before they rename the Buffalo ‘Pegullaville,’” said Christopher.

Rumor is Jon Bon Jovi will be in Canton Saturday night to perform at the Hall of Fame party. It seems Bills fans have already made up their mind about him.

“We don’t want him,” said Christopher. “I fully support the no Bon Jovi zone.”

Twitter posts referencing Bon Jovi’s short appearance in the movie “Young Guns II” are circulating the internet. Bills fans are being encouraged to watch the rock star get shot during his cameo in the film.

Nick Southard’s opinion is conditional.

“I never was a huge fan of his music. I don’t hate him.”

But if he tries to move the team to Toronto?

“Then I’ll hate him, then I’ll boycott his music, try to get all my friends to boycott his music.”

Despite Bon Jovi’s potential appearance, this weekend is about celebrating what was, with hope for another Super Bowl season.

“You look back and to see how good they actually were. It’s tough not to love this team,” said Christopher. “Even in the down times like now, even with the ownership up in the air, it’s tough not to be a Bills fan.”
