Cat sitter accused of killing three animals

CASTILE, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say a man shot and killed three cats that had been entrusted to him for safekeeping while the owner was away.

Roland Reinisch of Perry was arrested last Tuesday and charged with three counts of misdemeanor torturing or injuring animals under the agriculture and markets law.

Troopers say the 57-year-old purposely shot three cats in the Village of Castile that the owner had trusted him to take care of while the owner was away.

Police say Reinisch then buried the animals in two separate areas to prevent the discovery of their demise.

Reinisch is due back in court at a later date. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
