Deputies: Drunk driver nearly hit oncoming vehicles

BENNINGTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – Deputies say it took some time before a driver who they say was swerving on the roadway and nearly struck oncoming vehicles came to a stop.

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office says when they attempted to stop Matthew Kozlowski on Rt. 354 in the Town of Bennington on Saturday, deputies had to follow him for some time before the 22-year-old pulled into driveway and stopped his vehicle.

The Depew man failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of .16 percent, according to deputies.

Kozlowski is charged with DWI, failure to keep right and failure to comply to a lawful order, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana.

He is due back in court at a later date.
