Burglar removes A/C unit to gain access to home

PERRY, N.Y. (WIVB) – A witness led the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office to a burglar on Tuesday.

Deputies say Mason Dumbleton removed an air conditioning unit to gain access to a home in Perry. Once inside, the 23-year-old Perry man allegedly stole money and other various items.

A witness who allegedly saw Dumbleton provided the sheriff’s office with a license plate number. Deputies caught up to him at his home, where they say they recovered the stolen property.

Dumbleton is charged with second degree burglary and petit larceny. He was taken to the Wyoming County Jail on $15,000 bail.
