Outer Harbor developers to hold public meeting

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Outer Harbor developers want to hear from the public Wednesday night on what to do with the 350-acres of waterfront land.

The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation will hold two 90-minute presentation and feedback sessions from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and 7:00-8:30 p.m. at WNED Studios on 140 Lower Terrace in Buffalo.

Last year 350 acres of waterfront land was transferred from the NFTA to ECHDC. Right now they’ve got three possible plans for the Outer Harbor. Developers want to transform the long neglected property into a world class, mixed-use destination.

ECHDC says if you can’t make Wednesday night’s public meeting, and would still like to comment on the three alternatives presented, the alternatives and the scorecard will be posted on their website on Thursday, August 7 for review. The deadline to submit your scorecard and comments online is Wednesday August 13.

Then in September, a draft composite blueprint of the community’s favorite design strategies will be presented back to the community for additional input.
