Police looking for help to solve car break-ins case

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police are asking for help finding out who’s responsible for a string of car break-ins in Genesee County.

On July 30 around 7 p.m., about a dozen vehicles in the parking lot of Batavia Sports Park were broken into. State troopers tracked a stolen cell phone to the Red Roof Inn in Lancaster, where they found empty purses stuffed into a dumpster.

One man who said his car was among those broken into said he only left his vehicle for about an hour when the thefts took place.

Troopers are asking anyone with information about this incident to call 585-344-3311.
