Three held captive while jewelry store robbed

GREECE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities are looking for the suspects who tied up a couple and their adult son and held them captive for hours before robbing the suburban Rochester jewelry store when the couple worked.

Police in the town of Greece tell local media that two people burst into a family’s apartment around 5 p.m. Wednesday and tied up a man who lived there. His wife and son were also tied up after they arrived home.

Officials say a third suspect appeared Thursday morning, when all three took the family’s car to The Mall at Greece Ridge and used a set of store keys and the alarm passcode to rob the Jewelry Lab.

The family was able to get free and call 911. The father and son suffered minor injuries in scuffles with the suspects. The woman wasn’t injured. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover. In order to comment here, you acknowledge you have read and agreed to our Terms of Service.
