BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – An automaker is giving a big boost to childhood cancer research in Western New York.

Hyundai’s “Hope on Wheels” program donated $75,000 to Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. Tuesday, local children affected by cancer placed colorful handprints on a new SUV.

Kaleida Health President and CEO Jody Lomeo said, “This car with the little handprints all over it, which I think is really cool for the kids. We have all these little handprints going throughout the United States, raising awareness for pediatric cancer is wonderful. To all those from Hyundai, I really do appreciate it.”

Since 2011, “Hope on Wheels” has donated more than $750,000 to Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.
