Jim Kelly reportedly turns down offer from “Dance with the Stars”

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – You won’t see Jim Kelly doing the tango or the waltz on “Dancing with the Stars” anytime soon.

His daughter, Erin Kelly, sent out a tweet Tuesday night saying her father turned down an offer to appear on the hit show, because he needs to continue to recover from cancer treatment.

She then suggested recently inducted Hall of Famer Andre Reed should give it a go.

Quarterback Jim Kelly, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame himself in 2002, played a major role in Andre Reed’s success. Reed showed Kelly respect and gratitude as he reflected on the career they shared together.

“We always joked about what I would say when I left the huddle, whether it was a run or a pass play, ‘Right here bro,’ I said that every time. I did not care if it was a run or a pass play, I was open. But we laugh about it now because I wanted the ball. That was my passion. I wanted the ball every single time,” Reed said to Kelly. “I wanted you to be proud of me.”
