More than 22,000 tickets issued during “Speed Week”

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – More than 22,000 tickets were issued by State Police during their “Speed Week” campaign.

Between August 6-12, troopers specifically targeted speeding and aggressive drivers across the state. Officers were also on the lookout for distracted or impaired drivers, drivers not buckled up, and “Move Over Law” violations.

Here are the totals:

  • 10,266 speeding tickets
  • 276 tickets for texting
  • 577 tickets for cell phone use
  • 238 DWI arrests
  • 622 Move Over Law violations
