Signs warn Falls visitors to be wary of thieves

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – The City of Niagara Falls is trying to keep international visitors safe from thieves.

The Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation is partnering with the city to install multilingual signs that will remind people to keep check on their valuables while vacationing in the Falls.

Police Superintendent Bryan Dalporto said, “We have very low crime in the tourist area in Niagara Falls, we’re very fortunate, but when a target is presented and there’s property left inside cars it absolutely creates an opportunity.”

The signs are located near the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, and city lots on First and Third Streets. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
