Report: Bon Jovi wants Jim Kelly to join forces to own Bills

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Buffalo News is reporting that Jon Bon Jovi has reached out to Jim Kelly in an effort to join forces in Bon Jovi’s pursuit to buy the Buffalo Bills.

However, Jill Kelly, Jim’s wife refuted the report on social media Saturday, ensuring fans that Jim is not involved in plans that could potentially move the Bills out of Western New York.

Bon Jovi is linked to an investment group based in Toronto. It is widely speculated that the group would eventually move the Bills to Canada if it won the competitive bidding process and became owners of the NFL team.

Jill Kelly Tweet 1

Jill Kelly sent out a tweet Saturday from her account @HJKforever that read, “To think that anyone would think for a minute that Jim would ever link up with ownership that would move our BELOVED BILLS is ludicrous.”

Hours later, Jill Kelly followed that tweet with, “Bottom line. We love the Buffalo Bills. We love our community. And we would never do anything to jeopardize either. Truth will win!”

On Sunday, The Buffalo News’ Tim Graham tweeted that Kelly and Jeffrey Gundlach met with Bon Jovi face-to-face in Buffalo. However, no deal was made because Gundlach and Kelly did not believe their long-term interest in the Bills remaining in Buffalo coincided with the Toronto group’s interests.
