Marijuana smoke leads police to weapon arrest

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo Police say people smoking marijuana inside a parked car this past April led to a search that ended in a weapon arrest.

Kapone C. Young, 21, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The DA’s Office said Young’s concealed, unlicensed, and loaded pistol was found in a secret compartment in his vehicle during a traffic stop on April 5.

Young faces a maximum prison term of 15 years when he is sentenced by Judge Thomas Franczyk in October. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
