Man pleads not guilty in alleged DWI crash that injured child

CARROLLTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man who was behind the wheel during a crash that injured an 8-year-old child pleaded not guilty Monday to drunk driving charges.

In June, deputies say 39-year-old Bradley Fluent was driving drunk on I-86, between Exits 21 and 23, when he struck a concrete barrier. The road was closed due to construction.

The child in his vehicle was taken to the hospital. Fluent was not hurt.

The Olean man pleaded not guilty Monday to multiple charges, including vehicular assault, felony DWI under Leandra’s Law, aggravated DWI, DWI and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Authorities say Fluent had a BAC of .20 percent at the time of the crash.

He is due back in court at a later date. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
