Man accused of burglarizing ninth church

ARCADE, N.Y. (WIVB) – One of four people charged with burglarizing eight churches is now facing more charges.

Christopher Rose, 18, of Franklinville was charged Thursday with breaking into the Arcade Church of God on Countyline Road in the Town of Arcade. He was arraigned on charges of third degree burglary, third degree criminal mischief and petit larceny.

Rose along with Thomas Archer, 18, of Machias, Danae Chiarilli, 18, of Cuba, NY and Christopher Boilard, 20, of Franklinville are accused of breaking into eight churches across Cattaraugus and Wyoming counties over a three-day period this summer.

Each are charged with three counts of third burglary, three counts of firth degree conspiracy, three counts of possession of burglary tools, one count of third degree grand larceny and one count of fourth degree criminal mischief.

Police say they made off with cash, two safes, musical equipment and other smaller items.
