Scenes in Sharknado 2 feature Lockport Cave

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – If you go out to the movies Thursday night to see Sharknado 2, look for the Lockport Cave in some scenes.

The Buffalo Niagara Film Commission honored the cave Thursday and its underground boat ride for having a role in this popular sci-fi flick.

It’s also lucrative for Lock City.

Lockport Mayor Anne McCaffrey said, “When you’re bringing people in to see Lockport and the beautiful assets that we have and the canal and the landscape, it’s great for more tourists who want to come and see our landscape that we have here – the canal and the cave tours.”

The film is showing Thursday night at the Regals in North Buffalo and the Town of Lancaster.
