Westboro Baptist Church to picket Goo Goo Dolls concert

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Westboro Baptist Church, known for its offensive protests at the funerals of American service men and women, is planning to picket a Goo Goo Dolls concert.

The church says on its website it will picket the band’s show in Kansas City on August 29 at the Starlight Theater because “John Rzeznik and Robby Takac have spent nearly two decades filling the airwaves with self-serving, lust-seeking, man-pleasing nonsense.”

It adds, “God have them a huge platform of influence over generations of people, world-wide, and they consumed it on their own lusts.”

The Goo Goo Dolls are performing at Darien Lake Friday night.
