SWAT team called to Riverside, road closed


BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The intersection of Tonawanda Street and Riverside Avenue in the Riverside section of Buffalo was closed Sunday afternoon because of a large SWAT team presence.

Buffalo Police told News 4 they were called to Riverside Avenue after 4 p.m. Sunday for a call that a man was there with a gun. Forty-five minutes minutes later, SWAT units were called to a home on the street.

At 6:30 p.m. the SWAT members entered the home, and found no one was inside.

Residents of the area were shaken by the incident and were left looking for answers of what exactly happened in their neighborhood.
