Developer ready to revitalize Central Park Plaza

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – After months of feedback, Monday night LP Ciminelli unveiled plans for the Central Park Plaza in Buffalo’s Leroy-Fillmore neighborhood.

The developer plans to erect more than 500 living units, new parks and bike paths, as well as a new bus route on the 27-acre site. The area has already been cleared for the $60 million project and LP Ciminelli says community involvement has been key to their plans.

“This is their community. We’re here to develop in their community, and help create a better area of opportunity, a better community for all the stakeholders involved,” said Senior Vice President John Ciminelli.

In 1903, this area was called “Highland Park,” so the development team decided to re-brand it “Highland Park” and restore its historical identity. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
