LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – A convicted sexual predator now admits he preyed on additional children.
Sean Vickers of Geneva, NY pleaded guilty last week to multiple charges relating to the sexual abuse of three children under the age of 15 that went on for several months. The 45-year-old, Level 3 sex offender admitted that in 2013, he bought the children gifts and offered their families financial support to get close to them before offering to babysit the children or take them on errands.
As part of a plea deal, Vickers pleaded guilty to second degree criminal sexual act, first degree attempted criminal sexual act and first degree attempted sexual abuse. He is a Level 3 sex offender due to a 2008 conviction in New Hampshire.
Vickers was charged with sex crimes in both Genesee and Niagara counties. In July, he was convicted after a jury trial in Batavia of two counts of first degree sodomy, two counts of first degree criminal sexual act and one count of first degree sexual abuse.
As part of his plea deal, Vickers could face a maximum of 20 years in state prison when he is sentenced next month in Niagara County. He is also awaiting sentencing in Genesee County, which is set for later this month, where he could face up to 50 years in state prison.
The sentences will run concurrently.
