Stop the Violence holds memorial picnic

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – “Stop the Violence” was the theme for a memorial picnic in Martin Luther King Park on Sunday.

The picnic was held in memory of Murray Holman’s father-in-law, who was gunned down on a city street.

Event organizer Murray Holman said, “More families are coming out, other homicide victims’ families coming out to collaborate with us now, it’s starting to grow. Next year we’re looking for bands to make this a big success.”

This was the ninth year of the Stop the Violence Picnic at MLK Park. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
