Look out for “Shark Girl” at Canalside

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – You may see something that makes you do a double-take next time you’re walking along the waterfront at Canalside.

“Shark Girl,” a new public work of art, was installed Tuesday as part of the Public Art Initiative, a collaboration between Erie County and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.

“Shark Girl” comes from the mind of Casey Riordan Millard and is said to be “half Lewis Carroll’s Alice, half great white shark.” The seat she is built on is meant to enable visitors to take a photo with “Shark Girl.”
