BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Buffalo woman now has 39 convictions on her record after pleading guilty to stealing from a Tops Market shopper in South Buffalo while free on bail for three other thefts.

Lavina Walker, 49, distracted a 76-year-old shopper on April 4 and stole an envelope from him that contained $800. She pleaded guilty to fourth degree grand larceny.

Earlier this year, Walker admitted stealing from a 91-year-old woman and two 86-year-old women.

Despite these admissions, Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita says the court refused to revoke Walker’s bail, so she remains free.

Walker faces a maximum of 12 years in state prison when she is sentenced in September for stealing from the 76-year-old shopper.
