BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Erie County Sheriff’s Office says a man tried to sneak marijuana into the Holding Center by hiding it in his rectum.
While being processed as an inmate on Tuesday for domestic violence-related charges, a K9 unit showed a positive alert on Franklin Kettle’s buttocks. Deputies say a search uncovered marijuana in Kettle’s rectum.
Jail Superintendent Thomas Diina said, “Inmates will go to great lengths to smuggle or have others smuggle narcotics into the facility. We utilize every available asset at our disposal to detect and deter smuggling of all prison contraband especially narcotics.”
Kettle is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and promoting prison contraband. He will be arraigned on the new charges in Buffalo City Court on Friday.
