CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Customers have started getting deposit money back from the former Hearthstone Manor.

The former owners of the Hearthstone Manor on Dick Road are sending refunds to 71 customers whose events were canceled when the banquet facility suddenly announced it was closing its doors for good.

The NYS Attorney General’s Office announced in May that the former owners agreed to refund $45,000 in deposits to those customers after the business was sold.

Last February, the popular venue for wedding receptions, seminars and awards dinners announced it was abruptly closing after nearly 50 years in business. Its last event was held in March, leaving many customers in the lurch.

The owners of The Grapevine restaurant are poised to takeover operations at the Hearthstone Manor. Tom and Liza Pane plan to re-open the venue as The Grapevine Banquets. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
