CATTARAUGUS INDIAN RESERVATION – After receiving permission to search a vehicle, deputies say they found suspected heroin and a used needle hidden in the track of the vehicle’s sunroof.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist the Seneca Nation Marshals at a business on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Tuesday afternoon after a report of a suspicious person.
Marshals detained a 19-year-old, and when deputies arrived, she gave them permission to search her vehicle. Officers say they found two envelopes of suspected heroin and a used needle hidden in the track of the vehicle’s sunroof.
She was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was taken to the Erie County Holding Center on $500 bail.
Update: Charges were dropped in 2015.
