Kelly family asks for support on day of Jim’s biopsies

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Kelly family is asking for your support, as Hall of Famer Jim Kelly has biopsies done on Thursday.

After undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment, Kelly had exams done last week that showed no evidence of cancer. However, doctors identified one area of concern, and ordered the biopsies.

Kelly said last week that the tests will be done in an area around a nerve.

Erin Kelly, Jim’s daughter, tweeted Thursday, “Will you rally behind us this morning in praying for my dad as he gets his biopsies!?! #Kellytough #prayersforJK.”

Jim’s wife Jill posted a note on Instagram that read, “They just took Jim into the operating room for his biopsies. We’re waiting in the hospital room that carries so many memories. Hard being here. But as I scrolled through my photos this was the reminder I needed. Jim is brave. He’s tough. But he still needs God to fight for him. The. Lord. WILL. Fight. For. You. Banking on this! #prayersforJK #kellytough.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
