Police: Drunk driver traveled at 115 mph

CANASTOTA, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man is charged with drunk driving on the Thruway, after being stopped for allegedly traveling 115 mph.

New York State Police stopped Raymond Hilts, Jr. in Canastota at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, about 25 miles from Syracuse. Police say 55-year-old Brewerton man appeared to be intoxicated.

Hilts failed field sobriety tests, according to police, who say he had a BAC of .19 percent.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI.

Hilts is due to appear in court next month.
