Possible human remains found in Chautauqua County

PORTLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) – Possible humans remains were recovered Thursday from the shoreline of Lake Erie in Chautauqua County. They will release information about the remains Friday at 3 p.m.

State Police along with New York State Park Police responded to Lake Erie State Park in the Town of Portland around 2:25 p.m. after receiving a 911 call about possible human remains.

The remains were taken to ECMC to be examined by medical experts.

Police have released no further details but say their investigation continues.
