REW, Pa. (WIVB) – A search for a missing dirt bike rider ended with the discovery of his body on Sunday.

Riders contacted Pennsylvania State Police Saturday night after they had not seen David Bortle, 36, of Cayuga, New York, for over 5 hours.

Riders from Bortle’s campground searched the trails for Bortle, but they could not find him in the darkness, according to investigators.

The search resumed Sunday morning. Bortle was found dead at 10:45 a.m. near one of the trails.

Police believe Bortle’s death is accidental. They’re still investigating as of Sunday afternoon.
