EAGLE, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Kenmore woman died early Sunday morning in the Town of Eagle after an off-road accident.

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office said 42-year-old Sherrie Green was “mudding,” on private property with a group of friends at the time of the crash. Emergency responders were called to the woods off Horton Road at 3:30 a.m.

The sheriff’s office said one of the Jeeps involved got stuck in deep mud, and other vehicles were trying to pull it out. It’s believed that Green was accidentally struck by one of the Jeeps.

Green’s friends brought her to the roadway; she was reportedly breathing but unresponsive. She was rushed to Wyoming County Community Hospital, where she died.

There are no signs of foul play, and no charges are anticipated.
