Grier, Olczyk to coach in All-American Prospects Game

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Some familiar faces will be behind the bench later this month in Buffalo, with ex-Sabre Mike Grier and former NHL star Ed Olczyk set to coach in the All-American Prospects Game at First Niagara Center.

Grier, who had two stints with the Sabres during his 15-year playing career, has been a youth coach since retiring in 2011. This summer, Grier was an on-ice instructor at USA Hockey’s Boys’ Select 17 Player Development Camp.

Olczyk spent 16 years in the NHL as a player, and is also the former head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The prospects game will hit the ice in Buffalo on Thursday, September 25th. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
