Packers place WNY’s Tretter on IR, designation to return

GREEN BAY (WIVB) – Akron native JC Tretter will once again start the season on the sidelines, with the Green Bay Packers placing the second-year center on Injured Reserve with the designation to return.

Tretter, who missed nearly all of last season with an ankle injury, will not be eligible to return until week eight this year. He injured his knee during a preseason game against Oakland.

The Cornell product had been Green Bay’s starting center throughout the preseason. Per NFL rules, he will be eligible to return to practice in six weeks, and can play in a game in eight weeks. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
