Police remind students to lock cars, remove valuables

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – As students return to campus at colleges and universities in Western New York, Buffalo Police are reminding them to keep their belongings safe.

Police posted a reminder on their Facebook page for students to be mindful about their vehicles. Students should lock their vehicles and not leave any valuables in their cars or in plain sight.They are also asking students to pay attention to parking regulations near their campuses.

As the school year begins, all motorists are being reminded to be safe on the roads. Students of all ages will be walking to school or taking buses, which will impact traffic in some areas.

Drivers are being asked to take caution and have patience, especially in school zones.
