Alleged drunk driver hit mailbox, left scene

PEMBROKE, N.Y. (WIVB) – A woman from Sloan is accused of driving drunk with a child in the car when she hit a mailbox and left the scene.

A trooper on patrol saw a vehicle traveling on Rt. 5 in Pembroke on Sunday with front end damage and learned from Corfu Police that it matched the description of a vehicle that hit a mailbox on Rt. 77 and left the scene.

Police pulled over Jody Buck, who they say failed field sobriety tests. Her BAC was reportedly .14 percent.

Officers say parts of the car at the scene matched her vehicle.

Buck was arrested and charged with felony DWI under Leandra’s Law and leaving the scene of an accident.

She is due back in court next week. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
