Parkinson’s patients, supporters celebrate movement

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Thousands of Western New Yorkers are affected by Parkinson’s disease, and many came out to downtown Buffalo Sunday for the third annual Moving Day.

The event is an opportunity to raise funds and awareness about the disease while celebrating movement. Participants walked a three-mile course through downtown and along the waterfront.Parkinsons1

Those who cannot or have trouble walking got to enjoy the Movement Pavilion, which demonstrated exercises helpful to Parkinson’s patients, as well as dance, yoga, Tai Chi and drum circle sessions.
