Dareus returns to court over alleged street race

HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Buffalo Bills lineman who’s accused of street racing returned to Hamburg Town Court on Monday.

Marcell Dareus and his attorney tried to make a plea deal with prosecutors but they couldn’t agree.

Hamburg police say Dareus and teammate Jerry Hughes were involved in a high-speed race near Milestrip Road and McKinley Parkway. Dareus’ car crashed, but he wasn’t hurt.

The accident happened less than a month after Dareus was charged in Alabama on felony charges of drug possession.

He’s due back in court in November.
