Man accused of forcing woman to write him check at gunpoint

COLLINS, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man is accused of thrusting a stolen handgun into a woman’s face and forcing her to write him a check at gunpoint.

Deputies say Kyle King, 24, of Perrysburg confronted the victim at her home on Main Street in the Town of Collins Monday night. Authorities say King pointed a stolen handgun into the woman’s face and threatened to shoot if she did not give him any money.

Police say the victim wrote King a check and he then fled with the check and her checkbook. He was caught a short time later in the Town of Dayton.

King is charged with criminal use of a firearm, robbery, reckless endangerment and menacing. He is being held in the Erie County Holding Center on $400,000 bail.
