BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Thirty-one new citizens were welcomed to the U.S. and Western New York on Friday.
The citizens were naturalized at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site, and a re-enactment of President Roosevelt’s inauguration was part of the ceremony.
These new American citizens come from 21 countries, including Argentina, Germany, India and Turkey.
Brigitte Mancuso, who came to the U.S. from Germany, said, “It was a long journey. It didn’t really take that long as I expected. I’m here and I’m glad.”
Her husband is in the military, they have two children, and are excited to be in Buffalo.
