Memorial services planned for Buffalo native, wife killed in crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Memorial services will be held next week for the Rochester couple presumed to have died when their private plane crashed off the coast of Jamaica last week.

An obituary posted on the Brighton Memorial Chapel’s website says the services for Larry and Jane Glazer will be Tuesday morning at Temple B’rith Kodesh in suburban Brighton.

The Glazers, both 68-year-old experienced pilots, were flying from Rochester to Naples, Florida, last Friday when air traffic controllers lost contact with the couple’s single-engine turboprop. The plane flew on its own for 1,700 miles before running out of fuel and slamming into the sea.

Authorities say the couple apparently was incapacitated, possibly from oxygen deprivation.

Larry Glazer was a prominent businessman who redeveloped downtown Rochester properties. Jane Glazer founded a household-products catalog company. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
