HANOVER, N.Y. (WIVB) – A woman arrested last week for DWI allegedly had a BAC that was more than four times over the legal limit.
At 8:30 a.m. last Friday, State Police were flagged down while patrolling Routes 5 and 20 in Hanover by a concerned citizen who told troopers about an erratic driver.
Troopers caught up to the car in question and say they witnessed the driver swerving over the fog line and into the oncoming lane.
After pulling her vehicle over, officers interviewed Norma Peterson and say the 44-year-old Angola woman displayed signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test.
At the State Police barracks, her BAC was tested at .34 percent – which is more than four times over the legal limit of .08 percent.
Peterson was charged with aggravated DWI. She is due to appear in court later this month.
