Fathers coming to school in effort to be involved

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – On Monday and Tuesday, fathers all across New York are taking part in the “Million Father March: Take Our Children to School” day.

This is a nationwide push to get fathers more involved in their children’s lives at school beyond the first day.

Thomas Artis, a teacher’s assistant at Aloma D. Johnson Charter School in Buffalo, said, “It builds that connection between community, family and school that we are so desperately needing. In order to get test scores to go up and for our children to become the benefits to society that they already are.”
