Officers physically remove man who won’t go to jail

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – Officers say they had to physically remove a man from a holding cell to put him in a patrol vehicle and transport him to the county jail.

Orchard Park Police arrested Scott Cidell, 43, on Saturday for second degree attempted assault, second degree menacing and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Authorities say Cidell was at the Twin Oak Motel on Southwestern Boulevard and attacked a fellow resident around 7 p.m.

After being arraigned, he was ordered to the Erie County Holding Center on $1,500 bail. But officers say Cidell was uncooperative and refused to leave his holding cell.

Cidell was physically removed, taken to the county jail, and additionally charged with second degree obstruction of governmental administration. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
