Residents to learn about air quality around Peace Bridge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Day after day, hundreds of trucks cross to and from Canada on the Peace Bridge, making nearby residents worry about what exhaust fumes are doing to their neighborhood.

The State Department of Environmental Conservation will host a meeting Monday night about a study on air quality in those communitiess. The year-long study will track harmful compounds in the air.

The meeting, which will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Niagara Branch Library on Porter Avenue, will give people the chance to ask questions. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
