Man dies after getting stuck in farm equipment

ALEXANDER, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man was killed in a farming accident in the Town of Alexander Saturday evening.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s department says first responders on scene found 23 year-old Scott Booth, of Attica, unconscious in a hay field on Alexander Road around 7 p.m.

After an initial investigation of the accident, it was determined that Booth and the owner of the farm were attempting to repair a mechanical problem with a hay baler. They were lifting the back portion with another tractor when Booth became trapped.

Booth was extricated by members or the Alexander Volunteer fire department and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is being investigated.
