Group doesn’t want synagogue demolished

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – One of the older synagogue’s in Buffalo could be demolished any day.

A group of volunteers has been protesting the scheduled demolition of Ahavath Sholem on Jefferson Avenue, which has been standing since 1890.

A notice on the east side house of worship, which hasn’t been used since the 60s, says it will be demolished this week. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
