Motorcyclist’s passenger critically injured in alleged DWI crash

COLLINS, N.Y. (WIVB) – A motorcyclist was allegedly drunk when he crashed, leaving his passenger critically injured.

Martin Sixt, 49, crashed his motorcycle Saturday around 8:30 p.m. on Gowanda State Road in the Town of Collins as he attempted to turn right onto Bagdad Road. Deputies arrived and found him uninjured, but his passenger, 54-year-old Cristy Sixt, suffered critical injuries and was flown to ECMC by Mercy Flight.

Martin was given a field sobriety test, which deputies say he failed, and they report he had a BAC of .12 percent.
