Taplin commits to play Division I at Tulsa

TULSA, OK (WIVB) – Former Williamsville North basketball star Sterling Taplin verbally committed to play Division I hoops at Tulsa Wednesday.

Taplin, who is playing one season at a prep school this year, graduated as Williamsville North’s all-time leading scorer with 1,877 points. He was a first-team All-State selection as a senior, scoring 22.6 points per game.

He announced his decision on Twitter saying, “Proud to announce that i will be attending The University of Tulsa next year glad with my decision.”

Tulsa competes in the American Athletic Conference. The team made it to the NCAA Tournament last year, falling in the first round.
